In January 2008, the Vietnamese Student Association at Mission College, San Jose California organized a fundraising dinner and donated all proceeds to VNHELP to sponsor 80 cases of cataract surgery for the poor patients in Soc Trang, Viet Nam.

In February 2008, Truc Nguyen (24) and Chi Nguyen(19) organized their ninth annual concert in Pleasanton, California, to benefit the children at Thien An Street Children Center in Can Tho. In the last 10 years, Truc and Chi have raised over $90,000 from their fans to fund VNHELP projects such as Thien An Street Children Center, school building in Ca Mau, and scholarships for college students.
